The Bateman legacy dates back to 1972!

This is when Grandmaster David C Bateman began his Martial Arts Journey in taekwondo and Hapkido. He trained under Don Hopwood in the  great state of Minnesota. In 1985, derived by Don Hopwood, Jeff Newman, and David himself, David inspired the creation of The United States Expert Karate Association. This organization is the preferred American Martial arts system that is recognized by The world Hapkidan Council of Master's. David started out as the National Coordinator in 1985 and is now the recognized founder and General Overseer of the organization. After moving to Tennessee, Grandmaster Dave opened a martial arts program in 2009, carrying on his legacy by training his daughter, MariLiis Bateman. Together, known as the dynamic duo, they have taught martial arts to the Cleveland community for over 17 years!
